Our Summer So Far!

We have had a busy yet fun summer so far!
Summer started off with me doing the dirty dash. Which is a 5k obstacle course through mud!
Then Kevin left for the venture camp in Moab where they did alot of canyoneering.

Briggs left for BYU basketball camp that same day for a week. Briggs was an All Star at the camp. The next week Briggs started football which has been going on all summer. Nice that it's early in the morning.

We had a Jensen family reunion the last week of June in Eden UT at the Snowberry Inn. It was so fun to get together with everyone. We had the whole Inn to our family and was wonderful! It was so beautiful! Unfortunately I didn't take many pictures.

We did a hike, and went to the reservoir a couple of times, and just hung out playing games and visiting!

We came home and had Kevins brother Eric and his family staying with us for about a week. They were so busy visiting all the other siblings that we mostly just saw them in the evening. We enjoyed our time visiting and playing games with them in the evenings.

That first week end in July we got together with my family, for a reunion on my grandfathers side of the family.

That night we had a BBQ with my family and the kids all enjoyed playing with cousins.

Then we had the 4th of July! We said good bye to Kevins Brother and hello to my parents who were going to stay the night with us before heading home.

The next week Briggs left for Jackson Hole Wyoming for his Varsity camp. They did hiking, mountain biking, and river rafting. He had a great time!

That same week was basketball camp for the other 3 kids.

So fun to watch the kids play and improve! They all had a great time.

The next week we got to go to Harry Potter 7 with Kevins work. Then 2 days later we had a Very Potter Picnic for Kevins work. The summer picnic is always a high light of our summer. Good food, snow cones, cotton candy, entertainment, bounce houses, climbing walls, and lots of games where the kids can win prizes. This year for Harry Potter we got to be sorted unto different houses, get wands, and try jelly beans from Honeydukes. There was a potion shop and much more. Then there are always drawings for amazing prizes, it's always difficult for Kabe when he doesn't win the prize he enters. Who knows maybe one day we'll win! Unfortunately I forgot my camera on this day too.

Then next week was Koby's 10th birthday! He went to Weblos for the first time on his birthday, he said that no one knew it was his birthday but that was ok.

Koby wanted a treasure chest cake full of candy. Well it fell apart and wasn't the prettiest but it was very delicious! We love you Koby!

The next day we went to Cowabunga bay to continue our birthday celebration! We all had a great time. I must say I enjoyed the lazy river the most. The slides were too cold for me, but the kids thought they were fun!

Next was my birthday!
Kevin has been making me this delicious cheesecake for my birthday for at least the last 12 years that we have documented. I had a great birthday! Kevin came home from work early and made dinner for me! Who doesn't love that!

This week Briggs has been going to the Jimmer basketball camp. He loved it!

Today was the last day of the camp. Briggs won the lay up contest for the 9th graders and got a trophy and his picture taken with Jimmer! Though I was on the wrong side so all I got was the back side!

One month of summer left, it is just flying by! We are still looking forward to company coming and a few more fun things!

Graduations!

Thursday morning we went to Kabe's Kindergarten Graduation. They recited a couple of poems and sang a couple of songs and received their diplomas! After we got home Kabe said he was a little sad to have school ending because he thought he would miss his teacher. I can't believe our baby is going to 1st grade next year! Time Flies!

Wednesday night we went to Brinn's Graduation! We were all very excited that she won the Soaring to Great Heights Award! This is the highest and best award you can get in the 6th grade. This award is not only for academics but being a great student, a good friend, helpful, being kind to others, etc. Each year the teachers choose a boy and girl from their class and Brinn won!! Which shouldn't be surprising except that it was. There wasn't any phone call to notify us of this award which we got when Briggs won. Brinn will now have her name on a plaque that hangs in the office at school! Congrats Brinn we love you and are very proud of you!

On a side note Brinn has also been doing track this spring and is doing awesome! She cleared 3' 11'' on the high jump at her meet the next closest height was 3' 8''. She also came in 3rd over all in the 100 meter and 400 meter at her meet.

Today at the BYU foot ball game Kevin and I got the chance to go down and fire off the cannon when BYU scored! We fired the cannon for the 1st extra point.

It was a beautiful day for a football game and it's always nice to leave with a win!

Kabe lost his first tooth!

Yesterday morning when I got home from the gym I was told Kabe had a loose tooth. When I looked in I found it was very loose and there was another tooth growing in behind it. Well he worked on it all day and finally last night after he had been tucked into bed he came running down with his tooth in hand.

We had a great Halloween, it started Thursday with the Trunk or Treat for Kevin's work. We all dressed up except for Briggs that had to miss it because he had football practice. They took photos had crafts for the kids, and a cookie and drink. We always have a good time at the work parties. Then the next day the kids all dressed up for school except for Briggs, once you're in Jr high they don't allow it here. The next day we had a full day. It started out working in the yard, then we made some spooky Halloween eyeballs for Tina party. Tina had put together a spook alley in her basement, which was great! Then some of the older nieces and nephews got to help with the scaring, I didn't get a picture of it unfortunately. Then home for dinner and trick or treating, even with the sprinkling of rain. Glad it stopped but it was really cold. The kids all had fun!

Koby was dressed as a shadow for the spook alley. Down in the dark you couldn't even see him I walk right by him, he then jumped out behind me to scare get Kevin! I never even saw him and was keeping my eye out for him. Brinn was a head sitting on a table, Briggs had his arm all bloody sitting on a table that would grab you unexpectedly. All this while my nephew was tied to chair screaming for help so that he wouldn't be next.

We also got to eat lots of yummy spooky treats at the party thanks everyone!

Last week Brinn turned 12! Kevin and I took Brinn to get her ears pieced then out to dinner to Texas Roadhouse. Then the next day on her birthday we made one of her favorite dinners then quickly had some cake and ice cream then she was off to young women to make an ice cream sculpture! She had a great time! We love Brinn! She is an awesome sister, daughter and friend!

Koby turned 9 in July. As you can see I have been a slacker when it comes to blogging. We had a fun busy summer. Koby is the best! He is such a sweet boy! We love you Koby. Sorry this is so late.

Highlights from this year!

So I can't get the pictures to work so maybe I'll try again later to add them on.

In March we went ice skating for a work party with 1 800 contacts. Kevin was unable to attend so we went without him and had a great time. They had games and hula hooping contests while on skates. Briggs came in 3rd in one round and won a $20 gift card. Brinn came in 2nd place the next time and won a $30 gift card. They were both so excited and have really enjoyed there money to spend.

Koby also earned his wolf merit badge in cub scouts March. We were so proud of him.

In April we went to St. George for spring break. We went to see the St. George Temple our first afternoon. Then we did a lot of swimming in the evenings. One day we spent hiking at Zion National Park. Another day we went bike riding on some trails, then we left Kevin to do some more difficult trails while we went to lunch and then to see a movie. During Kevin's ride he broke his derailer off his bike and ended walking and coasting back to our hotel. We had a great trip. On our way home we stopped at Cove Fort, I have always wanted to stop there on the way home and finally did. We had fun taking the tour, although it was very windy and cold.

In May Kabe had his preschool program. I can't believe he will be going to Kindergarten next year! He is so excited!

Brinn also had her piano recital.

We had all of the end of the year activities for the kids.

The day after school got out we left for our trip to Disneyland! We went with my cousin and his family and had a great time! We also went to the beach 1 day and just relaxed and played. We had early mornings and late nights. While we were there unfortunately Koby and Kabe ended up getting sick. They were both real troopers though, and didn't want to spoil the fun for anyone.

We we home a day then it was time for Briggs to pack up once again to head to the BYU basketball camp. He roomed with his friend, and spent his other free time with an old friend from Carson City. He had a great time at the camp and can't wait to go back next year.

We had a BBQ with 3 other families that we knew from Carson City at the end of that week. We had such a good time visiting with them all. Made me miss the old days when we all lived there and did play groups at the park and spent days at Lake Tahoe together. The kids all had a great time seeing old friends, they all wanted to get together again.

We have been going to the pool as often as we can.

Last week we went to Oregon to visit my parents and so Kevin could do a Xttera triathlon. He did great! It always amazes me to watch all of those people competing. After one event I would be ready to call it good, but they all just keep going. While we were at my parents it was cold and rainy the first 2 or 3 days. The last day was nicer and we went up to Wallowa Lake and the kids got brave and swam. The water was absolutely freezing! They were out playing for quite a while, we hadn't brought suits so they all went in with there clothes. They were so cold when they came out and wished they had a towel or something dry. They had so much fun though it was worth it! We also were able to go fishing a couple of nights. This is another favorite with the kids. The first night everyone was catching fish but Briggs. He finally did catch a couple when we were getting ready to pack up. The second night the first hour was a little slow but then it picked up and the fish started biting. In all the 2 nights between everyone we caught 17 fish,Koby caught the biggest fish it was 16 inches! It was very exciting for us all!

Since being home from Oregon Briggs had a couple of days at home then he once again packed up and has gone to Leadership camp. He is still there. It was from Monday morning until Saturday. We hope that he is having a great time.

In the mean time we have done more swimming, and trying to hang out with friends as much as possible!

This week Kevin and I went to see Eclipse with our good friends the Gentry's. I really enjoyed the movie I thought it was the best one so far. After wards we went to dinner, we always have so much fun when we get together.

October was a busy month!

We started off October by attending Kevin's grandmas funeral. It was a very nice service, and good to see so many extended family members. She has now joined her loving husband who past away last December.

Then we had Brinn's 11th birthday on October 6th.That night Grandpa Jensen, Sharon, and the Gentry family came and celebrated with us! It was a great night.

Then the next day I got to go with Kabe and his preschool class to Pumpkin Land. There was a corn maze, but Kabe didn't like it.

Then went to Grandpa Jensen's cabin with the Gentry's and had a great time. We sure enjoy having them close after all these years. The kids like it too. There was lots of four wheeling, exploring the land, lizard hunting, cactus treasures, target shooting with the BB gun, dominoes, good food and good company! We such a good time we all wanted to stay longer. BUT

Don't let this picture fool you, Kabe only likes it if it's not moving! He did go for a short ride and at the end he was yelling turn this engine off over and over.

Dominoes anyone? Brinn didn't ride as much the second day, she was happy play domines with Aunt Marilyn.

We had to get back because later that day Kevin's dad was going to be getting married. We got home got showered and cleaned up, and were heading out the door when we got a phone call saying that we missed the wedding. Sharon's temple cancellation came through and they had a short window when the temple could do it. So we just got to go to the reception and dinner.

Saturday 21st Koby lost 2 teeth, Brinn lost 1 tooth, and Briggs lost 1 tooth. I couldn't believe all the teeth getting ripped out. Ready or not they were coming no one wanted to be left out. Poor Kabe there was nothing he could do about his.

We had fun carving our pumpkins, though we missed Briggs. He was too busy with football and homework. There just wasn't a good night we could all do it.

Koby didn't want to get any guts on his shirt, and Brinn has never been able to stand putting her hands into a slimmy pumpkin. Kabe cleaned his pumpkin by himself for the first time. He also designed his pumpkin face then had a little help with the carving. The kids all had a great time. I forgot to get pictures of the finished product this year, so you'll have to believe me when I say they all looked great!

I got my braces off just before Halloween! It was a very exciting day for me!

We also had our first snow at the end of October! After school Koby and Kabe built our first snowman of the season!

Ok on to Halloween the kids of course love getting dressed up and going trick or treating.

This year Brinn was a doctor.

Kabe was Bumble Bee from Transformers.

Throughout the month Briggs has been working very hard in school and football! He has had daily practices even some weekend ones. Rain, snow or freezing outside they practiced. It has all paid off! Tomorrow his team will be playing in the Championship game! Hard to believe today will be his last practice! GO LEHI!!!

It's been along time since I last posted. There have been some important things that haven't been blogged about. I seem to do this a couple times every year, then I don't blog because I think I should get it up to date and I fall further and further behind. So here we go....

In July Koby turned 8years old!
He got to have a friend party!
Even more exciting he was baptized in August!
He has also started cub scouts! I am the wolf den leader and it's so fun having him in there with me! We love you Koby!!!

This summer we stayed busy doing a lot of swimming! The 3 older kids also went to the Travis Hansen basketball camp and had a great time.

They also got to meet Shawn Bradley who was a guest speaker. Man 7'6" is tall!

They also got to hear BYU's Head basketball coach Dave Rose speak.

We went to Heber for a Wood family reunion. Here are most of the cousins. It was so fun to be together and have no where to go.
We went to Tibble Fork. The kids played in the water, and Kevin did a practice swim in open water.
We also got some canoeing in!
The kids loved it and so did we. My mom was also there, unfortunately I didn't get any pictures of her.
Then there was the first day of school. It's hard to believe that Briggs is a 7th grader in Jr. High.

Though it's not the best picture of Kabe he started preschool. I can't believe how old my kids are, I don't have any babies anymore.
It's that time of year... yep FOOTBALL! Briggs stays very busy with football, scouts and homework. Not much time in his life for anything else.
His team is doing really well this year and it's fun to watch them play. Briggs plays defensive end.
Kevin did the Xterra Utah Triathlon. He also did the Lake Tahoe Xterra in August but we didn't go with him so the kids wouldn't miss school. He went with his friend Dave that does the tris with him.Here he is setting up.
He did awesome! He always amazes me!
Last week before it got cold we headed to to the farm. It was a beautiful day!

When we got home we found that 2 of our trees in the back yard had gotten blown down from a storm while we were gone. Then Wednesday July 1st Kabe got sick. He woke up about 5:30 that morning and threw up and had a fever. So we thought he must have swine flu. That night he woke up at 11 pm and was now breathing funny (like a grunt). He also had a high fever which he'd had all day. He was panicked saying he couldn't breathe and he felt like he was dying. We gave him more medicine for the fever even though it hadn't quite been long enough. As he sat on Kevin's lap he started getting sleepy and his breathing started going back to normal. We then made him a bed on our floor. He slept another hour then was up again. I was up for a couple of hours with him. He seemed to breathe better when he was sitting up. I put him down for another hour the he got in bed with me, and I sat up in bed with him leaning on me for the last hour and a half until we woke up for the day.

He still had a fever and I had been alternating Motrin and Tylenol every four hours. I still couldn't keep his fever down and he still was breathing funny. I called the Dr. to take him in but couldn't get in until 3:45 pm. Kevin came home from work early and took him to the Dr. After listening to his lungs the nurse practitioner (Dr. was out of town) said she thought he had pneumonia and sent him to the hospital for a chest xray. There it was confirmed that he had double pneumonia. That night he started steroids, antibiotics, and breathing treatments. He was so much better by the next morning . We had to go back to the Dr. for follow up and they then decided to put him on Tamiflu in case he got it from the flu. Saturday Happy 4th of July back to the hospital for another chest x-ray. He was much better but still had some spots in his lungs. Monday we went back to the Dr. things still looking good. We are told to do one more x-ray Friday morning. Last night he started breathing funny again, he woke up again about 10:45 and was still breathing funny, so we brought him back to our room to the bed we had made on the floor. Last night was the first night he was going to sleep in his bed again. Today he seems to be fine again. He is suppose to be taking at easy, hard to make a 4 year old take at easy when he feels good. We are glad that he is feeling better. It was pretty scary last Wednesday and Thursday.

Kevin's Triathlon LaGrande OR

We left for La Grande OR Friday morning. We got there about 3pm got Kevin's registration packet (Where they then told him to be prepared for mud, that they have had a lot of rain.) and got checked into our Hotel. Then we drove up to Morgan Lake to check things out for the next day. It was overcast and wet but not raining at the moment. We then met up with Kevin's friend Dave who was also going to be doing the Tri in the morning. We went to dinner then went back to our hotel for an evening swim. Before the Triathlon, boy was it cold!Kevin and Dave getting in!

The next morning was freezing, when we got up to Morgan Lake it was 44 degrees and overcast with dark clouds. It warmed up to about 48 by the time the swim started. The lake was 59 degrees the announcer was joking that the lake would feel like a hot tub. We waited until Kevin made it back from his swim and left the transition for his bike ride. The kids were a little anxious about Kevin having to ride down suicide hill but he did great. Then kids and I spent our time in and out of the truck to get warm throughout the race. We were always out cheering our dad on every time he was coming in and out of the transitions! During the run it started to get a little warmer and not so windy. In the morning the wind was what was so cold. Kevin finished in 3 hours and 22 minutes his goal was to finish in 3 1/2 hours. We were so proud of him! He is amazing! After wards there were a couple of ladies doing massages, so Kevin got a massage then there was a BBQ so we all got some lunch then we headed to Enterprise OR to visit with grandma and grandpa Wood.

We got there Saturday afternoon after Kevin's triathlon. One of the first things we did was go fishing at the pond in town. It started to rain, but we didn't let that put a damper on our fun. The kids all had a great time. We were there just over an hour and Briggs had caught 3 fish, Brinn caught 1, Koby caught 1, and grandpa caught 3. We were lucky it didn't rain too long.
The next day we went to church and again lots of rain, and very cold! It was a relaxing day. We also drove out of town a little to let Trapper (uncle Tucker's dog) run. It was so cold that we watched from in the truck. The kids also painted rocks that afternoon. Monday morning once again was cool and overcast. The kids took Trapper for walks, we walked down town to buy some more paints. We drove out of town a few minutes to find more rocks to paint and went to the grocery store.We couldn't believe Briggs found this rock that looked like a bunny!After lunch we headed up to Joseph Lake which is about 12 minutes away.we went and walked around on the bout docks, and enjoyed the beautiful scenery. The kids went fishing again with grandpa and dad that night after work.

Tuesday was finally a nice day. There were more walks with the dog. Then after lunch we headed out to see grandpa at work. Then back to Joseph lake for a hike. On the way back home we stopped and played at the lake and skipped rocks. The kids were befriended by a couple of dogs that wanted to play fetch. Even when the kids were done and skipping their rocks these dogs would not leave them alone. Once again that night after grandpa got home from work he went fishing with the 3 older kids.

Wednesday it was time to get ready to leave for the family reunion, we were only going to go as far a Twin Falls Id. So we weren't as worried about getting an early start. I made a batch of rice bread so there would be bread for my brother Tucker who was coming later in the day. Sorry that we missed him.

We got to Twin Falls about 7pm that night. We got some dinner and went swimming at the Hotel. The next morning Kevin got up and did a 7 mile run and went down by the snake river, while I went with the kids for another swim. We had breakfast then went to Shoshone Falls. After that we headed for Lava Hot Springs for the reunion.

Jensen Reunion 2009

At the end of the month we had our Jensen family reunion. We went to Lava Hot Springs Id. We spent our first afternoon at the pool, doing slides and diving boards. Went back to camp for a quick dinner, then we were off to the hot springs for the rest of the evening. We had a great time! The next day we woke up to a light rain, ate breakfast then had a pretty good rain. We headed off to Chesterfield Id. for some family history. This little town has had some homes and other buildings restored.
Here is our family in our reunion shirts in front of the Denmark Jensen home. The rain stopped for while we were in Chesterfield and actually got nice. After this we headed back to camp for lunch. After lunch it started to cloud up again. Mark and Kristi took their kids Briggs and Brinn with them and went tubing down the river. Scott also went and took 2 of his kids. Shortly after they left the skies opened up and the rain poured and there was a lot of lightening and thunder. Kabe, Koby and I sat in the truck to stay warm and dry. Kevin sat under the umbrella. The kids came back after the rain storm and said it was a blast, and that it was best way to pass the time durning the storm because they were already getting wet. This is true but for me I like the sun to be out if I'm getting wet. It then cleared up again and we were able to have a nice dinner, and campfire program. All the families did a skit or song, then Jennifer prepared a trivia game about everyone in the family. The next morning we had a delicious breakfast together with everyone. Then packed up and headed home! It was really fun to see everyone!

We went to my father in laws cabin over Memorial Day weekend. We had a great time riding 4 wheelers and playing games. Though Saturday morning was a rocky start, the truck broke down. Luckily we were able to get it fixed that day.

The 6th grade had a BBQ and water slide party at school yesterday. He had a great time, although he didn't use sunblock and got really burned.

Last night was 6th grade graduation, here Briggs is with a couple of friends.

Briggs won the soaring to great heights award. They picked a boy and girl from each class for this. The plaque reads in recognition for outstanding scholastic and personal achievement. His name is also on a plaque that will be kept at the school.
We are so proud of you Briggs!

Spring Break 2009

We went to southern Utah for a quick trip. Here we are at Arches National Park,this is the one picture we have of the whole family. It was really windy that afternoon. Kabe had a grip like this on Kevin just about when ever we were out of the car, he was afraid he would blow away. We had lunch at balanced rock then we went to delicate Arch. We drove down by the devils garden and stopped at the sand dunes arch. This was the favorite spot of the day. It wasn't as windy since it's back between some fins. Everyone enjoyed climbing around the rocks. Briggs even forgot about his fear of the other kids falling from high ledges and had a good time. Kevin, Briggs and Koby went to see how high or far they could go. On their way down Koby ended up hanging onto a cliff and was kind of stuck there until he was able to pull himself up to a ledge. I guess that he was in a spot that no one else could get to. When they got back down he told me he almost died. We checked out the vistor center then headed to Green River to check into our hotel. We got some dinner, went swimming and played snar before bed and were constantly entertained by the funny things Kabe says.

The next morning we got up and headed to Goblin Valley. It wasn't real warm we doubled up our sweatshirts and were ok. Everyone had a good time climbing on the goblins (rocks). This day Briggs' fears came back. Kevin climbed to the top of a wall then went on the other side and was gone for a little. Briggs was sure he was dead and started telling all the other kids not to go high, or near edges. After he saw Kevin he was better, but he would ask the kids not to climb certain things. We would tell him they were fine but it would make him nervous. Koby was a great climber and most daring. It was so fun to watch him there and the day before. I guess that's how he ended up on his stomach stuck hanging on for dear life the day before. we went back to the hotel, got some dinner, did more swimming, played snar then went to bed.

The next morning we got up and headed home. We all had a great time. It was nice to get away from everything just for a couple of days. While we were gone we missed the snow at our house we were told we got 8 inches the day we left. It was gone by the time we got home but still cold.
So once again I had problems loading pictures. Who knows why it did one and not the others.

Yesterday was a beautiful day! It was so nice and warm. Kabe and I spent the whole afternoon outside playing. I forgot to put sunscreen on and Kabe got a little sunburned. We were watching my friends little girl and she and Kabe had a great time playing together outside. It was to watch him push her on the swing, he would have made a great big brother. We'll just have to settle for the wonderful little brother he is, I guess it's not really settling.

Thie kids all had friends over playing inside and out. I love to see them playing with friends and then with each other. All the smiling faces and the noise of happy kids. I love my children so much, they truly bless my life.

My sister in law Melissa and her new little boy Miles came over for the day. It's so fun to have such new little babies around. It's always fun to have the company, and be able to hold sweet little babies.

This morning Kabe and I are going to story time at the library and then to run some errands. It's suppose to rain today, we'll see what happens. I'm ready for the sun and playing outside everyday!

The last couple of months!

Well I have gone to blog a couple of times now and haven't because my pictures aren't loading, and I'm all about the pictures. Now that it's been so long though I figured I better just put down some of the things we've been doing even if I don't have any pictures.

In February over Valentines weekend almost all of my family was in town for River's (my nephew) baby blessing. It was so fun to see everyone even though the time went by was fast. While everyone was here a phlebotomist came to my home and drew blood. My family and I mean everyone husband, children, siblings, parents, sister in laws, niecies and nephews where tested for celiacs disease. It took a couple of hours to get everyones blood, it was quite the ordeal. This is a disease that runs think in my family and extended family so we were participating in research. As it was myself, my mom, and 2 younger brothers have been diagnosed. Since the test we have found that my dad and older brother also have it. That means 6 out of the 8 in my family have it. That's not counting all the uncles and cousins that have it.

Also in February Kabe and I went to the zoo with my sister in law Jennifer and 2 of her kids. We went up in the morning and packed lunches and snacks and had a great time! Kabe loved it! It was his first time to the zoo. We stayed until 1:30 pm then hurried home, so we could be home when the other kids got home from school.

Briggs and Brinn also finished up basketball. Briggs was point guard for his team and always gave 110%. Brinn's team didn't have positions they just worked on the fundamentals, she improved a lot from last year.They both had a great time and played great and I loved watching them play.

In March we have been busy as usual and have had lots of fun. We have gone ice skating with Kevins work, which was so fun! We went a couple of years ago and Koby couldn't stay up and we pushed Kabe in the stroller. This time Koby did great! Kabe even did great! Kevin and I each held Kabe's hand the first time around, then he said he could do it himself. He held onto the side wall, then as the evening went on he began to let go of the wall more and more. By the end he wasn't using the wall. He wasn't very fast and he had a few falls but he was skating all by himself and doing great! If I would skate by him he would tell me to leave he could skate alone. So we were all able to just skate and have a good time. Briggs and Brinn also did great! Briggs even won the hula hooping contest on ice. Koby was one of the winners for simon says. We also had dinner there, it was a fun night.

We got a unicycle and Briggs loves to go out and ride it around in back. I can't hardly sit on it. It is definitely harder than I thought it would be. The other kids aren't big enough to reach the pedals yet, so Briggs is the only on that can ride it.

My mom and grandparents came down a couple weeks ago. My grandpa was given an award at the Utah State University basketball game during halftime. I wasn't there but my mom said it was really neat and that he was given a standing ovation. He played basketball there and also participated in the first NCAA tournament in 1939.

We have gone to the dinosaur museum, the farm at Thanksgiving point and swimming in the last week. Kabe and I also enjoy going to story time once a week. It's been nice to be able to do things outside this week. I'm ready for the cold to be gone!

March 20th my newest nephew was born. Miles Beam Jensen he was 8lbs 2oz and 21 inches long. He is very cute! Comgratulation's Brent and Melissa!

Yesterday Kevin went on a bike ride with the 3 younger kids just a few miles around home. Then came home and he and Briggs went mountain biking up corner canyon for a couple hours. I love to see them doing things together and having this time to be together. Our kids are just growing up way to fast!

Today Kevin, Briggs and Brinn have gone to the Draper Temple dedication, and I stayed home with Koby and Kabe. Hopefully I'll be able to figure out why my pictures aren't loading for next time.

December part 4 Home Again! Kabe's Birthday! Christmas Eve!

My mom came and stayed with our kids while we were in Jamaica then ended up getting snowed in and stayed in Utah for Christmas.
My brother Bret and his wife Sarah.
We worked on a puzzle Christmas eve, read the Christmas story, sang some Christmas songs and ate lots of yummy food and treats!

Kevin's grandpa Denmark C Jensen past away December 23rd at the age of 93. We attended his funeral and loved hearing all the stories that were shared. He was truly an amazing man.

Kabe turned 4 years old! He is so fun and a joy to have in our family. We love you Kabe!
When we returned home we also found that Koby had lost his other front tooth!

My father in laws wife Louise of almost 3 years past away. She became very sick, very rapidly. Though it was sad we know she is in a better place, and no longer in pain.

This year Kabe was spiderman!
This was before school, Briggs was a chick magnet, Brinn was a cave girl, and Koby was a vampire!
Kevin was also a chick magnet for the day at work.

The kids had a great time trick or treating. Briggs went out with his friends. Brinn and Koby did the neighborhood then Brinn went to her friends party. Koby came home and handed out candy to the trick or treaters and thought that was great! Kabe and I also went through the neighborhood , although we were at a slower pace. Kevin stayed home and handed out candy and worked on the basement, until Koby relieved him of his duties.

Briggs has been playing defensive tackle this year. He enjoys it much more than offensive line.

Once again football has come! Briggs usually practices 3 nights for 2 hours a week plus a game a week. It keeps us very busy but especially him. I think that he is enjoying it more this year than last. Hi coach isn't quite as intense. We sure have a good time watching and cheering him on.

Koby turned 7 years old on July 19th! We had a great day. We did a little yard work then went swimming then headed home for our family party with Spaghetti for dinner then cake and ice cream. Last but not least the presents! It was a fun day for all!

The Monday after our trip Brinn, Koby and Kabe started swimming lessons. So we got plenty of swimming in that week since we normally go to the pool daily. This week we went swimming a couple times a day. One day we even went 3 times.

Catch up!

We had a great 4th of July! Kevin brother and his family were here visiting. It started off early with Kevin and 3 of his brothers helping him work in the yard to finish our rock path. Then we headed to a family picnic with Kevin's extended family. Then that evening we went to the stadium of fire. The firework show was awesome I've never been before. The sound wasn't the best for the concert but we had a good time seeing Miley Cyrus, especially Brinn!

Then July 7th we headed to the Grand Tetons were we camped for in a tent cabin for the week. Monday night after getting settled in and finishing dinner we went for a hike to a lake. It was the most mosquito infested hike and especially lake I've ever seen. We were getting eaten alive!

Tuesday we headed to Yellowstone and saw Old Faithful, and stayed around the geyser basin. Our favorite geyser to see was the grand fountain geyser.

Wednesday we drove around the Tetons looking for wildlife and went swimming in Jackson Lake. That night we went to dinner at the Bar J Ranch, we really enjoyed the cowboy show.

Thursday we headed back to Yellowstone. We drove around Yellowstone stopping to hike around the falls and mammoth hot springs. We also hoped to see a bear but had no luck!

Friday we drove around the Tetons again for more wildlife and lots of pictures (Kevin was in heaven). We also did more swimming at Jackson Lake.

Then we headed home saturday. It was fun to be away from everything and just be together!

Everyone's Home!

It's so nice to have everyone home again. Kevin actually changed his flight to come home early. He should have gotten home around 12:30 am, but because of delayed flights he got home at 4 am. Then he was up at 7:30 for the day. He didn't go to work so it was nice to have him around. Then yesterday afternoon we picked up Brinn from a sleep over with some cousins, then headed to Lindon to pick up Briggs. It was so fun to see him get off the bus. He had a great time despite the cold weather and the snow they got most of the day Wednesday. He got the top Trapper award at camp. He was the first one to catch an animal, a chipmunk. Two nights later 2 others caught something too, one being a bird. So out of 100 kids only 3 kids caught things. He made some new friends and saw some old ones from other schools he's attended.

Brinn also gave him a bug she got earlier in the week from the Library. Story time was all about bugs. They then had edible bugs for the kids to try. Koby ate one and Brinn saved hers for Briggs.

Last night Kevin, Briggs and Tina (Kevin's sister) went for a Bike ride up corners canyon. They had a great time.

Kevin left this morning at 6:15 for another mountain biking race, he was going to drive up with his brother who is a huge racer. Briggs wanted to go and give it a try but they would have had to leave earlier. Maybe next time.

Brinn is gone all morning for a Stake Achievement Day activity.

So even though everyone's home it's still pretty quiet this morning!

Fox Hollow Frolics

The last week of school the kids had their Fox Hollow Frolics better known as the Dance Festival! They all did great! It was canceled for the rain once, but the rescheduled day turned out to be beautiful.

Last Friday I started to stain our swing set it was in dire need, it should have been done 2 years ago. Well I wish I could say that I finished it but I ran out of stain. I have now got more but then didn't have time to finish Monday or Tuesday, today was going to be the day. I guess I'll have to wait again since it's raining now.

This week is kind of quiet at our house Kevin left Sunday afternoon for Arkansas for work. This is the third time for him to go to Arkansas in a month and a half. Then Monday morning at 6:45 Briggs left for Clear Creek summer camp. This is the first time for me to be away from Briggs for more than a night. I was sad to see him leave. They will both be home Friday afternoon. We miss them both and we'll be happy when we're all together again. Also this week Koby is doing a reading program this month so he is gone every morning from 8:30 to 11:30. Then in the afternoons we have gone to the outdoor pool. Although so far this week hasn't really been swimming weather so I stay wrapped up in my blanket on the sitting on the side. We are looking forward to warm sunny days to spend at the pool. The kids have been looking forward to swimming everyday, but since it's really cool and rainy out we will be missing today. We are planning on going to the library instead.

It's been a while!

So life has been really busy these days. Plus I haven't had any fun pictures to add so it's not quite as fun to blog with out them. We've had company from my family come to visit also from Kevin's family. We always enjoy seeing family no matter how short of visit it is.

I had a nice Mother's Day everyone helped make me breakfast in bed which was very nice, pancakes with strawberries! Yum!!! I also got the Host by Stephenie Meyer, though I haven't had a chance to read it yet.

Kevin has been really busy with work lately. He went to Arkansas 2 weeks ago for a few days. He left again for Arkansas on Mother's Day and was suppose to come home tomorrow, although I just got a phone call saying it will be Thursday now. Which means I will need to work out arrangements to get Briggs to scouts since I have a mtg. in Lindon about Clear Creek (a camp Briggs will be going to for a week on June 2nd). I will also need to make other arrangements for my other children during that time.

Well there is so much I could say, but I better just concentrate on the now and do better at updating more often. The rest of the week is looking like it will be busy. Atleast the weather is getting warmer. This morning I went out and tried to get my garden area ready. I know it's a little late it's just been so cold I haven't wanted to go outside.

Chocolate Streusel Bars

Servings: Makes 2 to 3 dozen bars

Cook Time: 35 minutes

Ingredients
	1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
	1 cup sugar
	1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa
	1/2 cup cold butter or margarine
	1 egg, beaten
	1 (14-ounce) can EAGLE BRAND® Sweetened Condensed Milk (NOT evaporated milk)
	2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips, divided
	1 cup chopped nuts

Instructions
	Preheat oven to 350°F. Combine flour, sugar and cocoa; cut in butter until crumbly. Add egg; mix until well blended. Reserve 1 1/2 cups crumb mixture. Press remainder evenly on bottom of greased 13x9-inch baking pan. Bake 10 minutes.
	In heavy saucepan, over low heat, combine EAGLE BRAND® and 1 cup chocolate chips; cook and stir until chips are melted and mixture is smooth. Spread evenly over prepared crust.
	To reserved crumb mixture, add nuts and remaining 1 cup chocolate chips; sprinkle evenly over top. Bake 25 to 30 minutes or until center is set. Do not overbake. Cool. Cut into bars. Store leftovers covered at room temperature.

I made these Sunday night and substituted in my GF flour and
they were a hit with everyone. I also added some caramel
ice cream topping on top before I cooked them.

Brinn got glasses yesterday and loves them! She never knew what she was missing. Lastnight she actually could see and read the signs. She told Kevin she never knew they said things. I'm so glad that she can see better! When we took her to check her eyes she could only read letters from the top line. I had now idea her eyes had gotten so bad. Yeah for glasses!

We had a wonderful Thanksgiving! We had Justin with us from Rexburg Idaho. We also had Tina, Brent, Melissa and her sister Gabby. I was busy cooking and baking for 2 days, though I must say I enjoyed most of it. Thanksgiving night it was nice to visit with Lance and his family. Then we enjoyed leftovers for the next couple of days or as long as we could stand it. We also had lots of yummy pies! We made a pecan, coconut cream and a chocolate caramel pecan pie. Melissa brought a chocolate toffee, pumpkin, and a chocolate chip walnut!

Last Monday night we carved our pumpkins and everyone had a great time. We had Brent, Melissa and Tina over for dinner and carving pumpkins which is always fun!

On Halloween Kabe and I went to the Halloween parade at the school then we were off to story time for some spooky stories and Halloween games. That evening we had a quick dinner then went to the trunk or treat at the church, Kevin was still at work so I stayed at the car and the kids went to the cars and helped Kabe. Kabe and Koby had costumes changes from the trunk or treat the week before. Koby changed from a ninja which was what he was at school to a vampire. Kabe changed from a lion to spiderman, I never got a picture of him with his mask on. Everyone had lots of fun! Then we went home and the kids went trick or treating. I stayed home to hand out candy while Kevin took the 3 younger kids. Briggs went out with his friends this year. Hard to believe that he is old enough to just go. They are all getting so big where has the time gone!

Last night Koby had a birthday party at Jump on it. He had a great time. There are tons of trampolines right next to each other and on the walls.

Tonight Briggs has a party it's from 3:30 to 10pm. They are going to go see the Bee movie and go swimming. It should be a fun night, he loves being out with friends. The later the better he thinks.. Last Friday he went with his friend Dallin to the Haunted Forest, it was his first haunted house experience and he loved it!

Tomorrow is a BYU game so that's were Kevin and Briggs will be tomorrow! Go cougars!

Brinn had her piano recital last night, she played a duet with her teacher. The song they played was Beauty and the beast, she did great! I love to hear her play the piano, I wish I could.

Tonight Briggs received his Weblos badge. Next month should be his arrow of light, then he'll be off to 11 year old scouts!

This is a picture looking out one of windows along the back of the house, though this is what they all look like. For the last week and a half we've been under attack by box elder bugs! They have made there way inside the screens so we can't open the windows with out bugs coming in.

Last Thursday Briggs got his braces off! YEAH!! He was only suppose to have them 4 to 6 months ended up having them 10 months. He now has a permanent retainer, a piece of wire that they cemented to back of his front four teeth. Once he looses the rest of his baby teeth and he gets all his big ones then well do full braces. At the rate he looses his teeth or doesn't it could be a couple of years still.

This year I planted some zucchini seeds and got a pumpkin, the package was open and from many years ago. Kevin was surprised that it grew at all. I planted about 10 seeds and only one grew. This week we saw a sign for free pumpkins, turns out there was a pumpkin patch by the school. We had a great time picking out our pumkins in the pumpkin patch.

October 9th Briggs had his rocket launch at school. Kabe and I went to watch. Briggs was one of the few connector helpers. It was really fun to watch his rocket. It was the sport and it went really high.

Koby decided he didn't want the calf to lick him.

Kabe loved feeding the calves, the whole time he would say"gross, gross" then he would get more food and do it again. It was really cute.

Yesterday Brinn had her egg drop at school. She had alot of fun watching her egg drop off the school, even though it didn't make it in one piece.

Here are a couple of pictures from Briggs football game lastnight. His team is in the yellow jerseys because they were playing another Lehi team, unfortunately they lost by 3 points. Better luck next time!

Well since it seems to be all the rage I thought I would give this blog thing a try. Be patient with me as I try to figure it all out.

We are staying busy these days with football, scouts, piano, walks, bike rides, and homework.

We are all looking forward to quieter times after football ends. Though it will be missed we have all really enjoyed watching Briggs play this year. It has been very time consuming 5 days a week!

We are also getting excited for Brinn's birthday this weekend! Especially Brinn it's all that she has talked about for a week. It's hard to believe that she will be 9 years old. All of my babies are getting so old.

Koby has been really enjoying school. He has been playing football and basketball at recess.

Kabe misses the kids while they are at school, but we stay busy with bike rides/walks, doing his "homework" (ABC's, shapes, colors, numbers), and stroy time at the library that he loves!

Kevin is as busy as ever with work. He also either plays basketball or goes mountain biking at lunch everyday. Lately mountain biking has become his number 1 hobby. He loves it! He goes every chance he gets sometimes twice a day.
